Flashback: Erin Andrews Profiles How South Carolina Landed Marcus Lattimore

On Saturday the South Carolina Gamecocks fanbase was thrown into a whirlwind after star running back Marcus Lattimore suffered a devastating knee injury. Lattimore has anchored the South Carolina backfield for the last three seasons and the Gamecock faithful has grown to love and adore the highest rated recruit to ever sign with the Gamecocks. More importantly, fans have grown to love Lattimore as person and a symbol just as much as they’ve grown to love his play on the field.

On Monday, the university held a rally showing their dedication and support for Lattimore as he celebrated his 21st birthday relaxing at home with his family. The rally was streamed to Lattimore via the internet and Lattimore had a message to crowd by simply saying, “I’ll be back.”

As a tribute to Lattimore, we flashback to a sit-down interview with former ESPN commentator Erin Andrews, prior to the SEC Championship in 2010. Andrews profiles how exactly the Gamecocks were able to land the future Gamecock legend. We think we speak for all Gamecock fans when we say we cannot wait for the day that we see No. 21 walk out of the tunnel again at Williams Brice Stadium.
