Confirmed to The Meat Locker, Stephen Garcia is indeed in Montreal this week participating in mini camp with the Montreal Alouettes. After going undrafted in April’s NFL Draft, Garcia also gained no interest on the open market via NFL free agency. Garcia caught interest from the Montreal Alouettes and participated in a state-side tryout prior to his mini camp invite. Garcia told us after the tryout.

“The tryout went pretty good, I threw pretty well, but those Canadian balls are a heck of a lot different then the NFL balls.”

Garcia performed well enough to earn his invite to Montreal. After learning of his mini camp invite, an excited Garcia said.

“I’m excited for the opportunity, I really feel like things might be turning around for me.”

Garcia has agreed to keep us up to speed on his status with the Alouettes and whether he earns a contract offer. This could be a great opportunity to keep his football career alive and reaching his ultimate goal of playing in the NFL one day.
