Today the South Carolina Gamecocks unveiled their alternate “Wounded Warrior” uniforms, created by Under Armour. The Gamecocks will don the new uni’s when they take the field against the 2-1 Auburn Tigers October 1st. The Gamecocks have a score to settle after being handed two crushing losses by the Tigers last season and Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Cam Newton. Auburn defeated the Gamecocks during the regular season and would eventually go on to beat them once again in the 2010 SEC Championship, en route to the National Championship.

Last time South Carolina wore the “Wounded Warrior” uni’s they upended Tim Tebow and the Florida Gators at Williams Brice Stadium. Under Armour has arguably missed the mark on this season with their alternate uniform campaign for various other universities. But only Gamecock fans can hope that these will bring the lucky magic back to help defeat the Auburn Tigers.
